Radium Hot Pools Update

Information Update - Radium Hot Springs pools remain closed - What’s happening?

Demolition of the wet hall subfloor at the Radium Hot Springs pools is now underway. Demolition is expected to be completed by the end of March. This work is being completed as quickly as possible, but will take time.

The facility closure is still expected to last into Spring 2020. Once an estimated time-frame for reopening is established, more information will be provided. For construction updates, please visit www.hotsprings.ca/radium-construction.

Parks Canada is pleased to share that planning Kootenay Spring Thaw is underway.  The event will take place Friday March 27th from 10 am to 4 pm at the Radium Visitor Centre and Redstreak Restoration Area. A full schedule of events will be posted to the Kootenay National Park Facebook page and website in the coming days. For more information on the event or to get involved contact lesley [dot] matheson [at] canada [dot] ca.

While the Radium Hot Springs pools facility remains closed for repairs, Parks Canada staff will be on-hand at the Radium Visitor Centre to assist visitors daily. Staff will be able to answer visitor questions, provide alternate activities in the area and assist with trip planning.

What you need to know:

• Parks Canada’s Radium Hot Spring pools closed to the public for the safety of visitors and Parks Canada team members on January 11 due to a potential safety risk.

• Parks Canada is aware of the impact this closure has on the Village of Radium Hot springs and would like to remind all visitors of the family friendly activities available in Radium Hot Springs. For more trip planning advice, visit the Kootenay National Park website, Tourism Radium website or stop in at the Radium Hot Springs visitor centre for more information from a member of the Tourism Radium team.

• Safety is our top priority. The Radium Hot Springs facility will remain closed until appropriate mitigations are put in place to ensure the safety of visitors and staff in the facility.

• Pleiades Spa and Wellness remains open by appointment as it is accessed from an area that has been deemed safe by engineers. Reservations can be made by calling 250-347-2288.
