Local governments that receive voted support of the majority of local accommodation providers may pass a bylaw authorizing the tax and apply to the Province for approval. The tax is collected by the province on behalf of local governments.
Currently, approximately 50 communities throughout British Columbia apply the AHRT to fund community tourism marketing programs and projects.

BC HYDRO/TREE CANADA COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING PROGRAM

In 2011 the Village received a $5000.00 grant from BC Hydro and Tree Canada. The funds were used to purchase trees to replace dead and dying trees along the boulevard and in the parks. The addition of these new trees will greatly assist in the ongoing beautification efforts of Radium's downtown core and surrounding parks.  The Village wishes to thank BC Hydro and Tree Canada for this worthwhile community project.

Life In Radium

The Village is committed to enhancing the quality of life and leisure in Radium Hot Springs. Our extensive trail system (Sinclair Trail) and beautiful parks and playgrounds all add to the visitor's experience and the residents' pleasure. The bleachers around our ball diamond, now renamed as "Legends Field", have been upgraded and improved. The kids will be amused for hours at the playground attached to the Ball Diamond. Enjoy a walk up Hwy 93 to Shell Park and relax on a bench overlooking the Valley.
