Mayor and Councillors

The Village Council consists of a Mayor and four Councillors who are elected for a four year term. The Community has the opportunity to provide input on such issues as budgets, taxes, development and OCP planning.

Council meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm and are open to the public. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers, located at the Village Office (4836 Radium Blvd.). The public can address Council at these meetings if arrangements are made ahead of time. If you wish to address Council, please contact Mark Read at the Village Office or by email mark [dot] read [at] radiumhotsprings [dot] ca.

Please note the summer schedule for meetings: June 17th, July 15th and August 12th. Regularly scheduled meetings will resume in September.

Mayor & Councillors (2014-2018 term)

Mayor Clara Reinhardt

My husband and I moved to Radium Hot springs in 2005 upon his retirement, and have felt at home from the beginning. My current job with the Canadian Red Cross allows me the flexibility to commit to this role in a very active way. I enjoy most outdoor activities and have met many of you on my daily walks. Some of my other background includes being on a School Council in Whitehorse for 2 terms, 2 terms on Radium Council, licensed EMR, building management, lifeguard/instructor,  airline agent, real estate and a wide variety of volunteer groups. The diversity of experience came as a result of living in 4 western Provinces and 2 Territories. I am a current member of the Radium Sunrise Rotary Club. Reg and I have three adult children who are working and living in Alberta, but love to visit Radium whenever they can.

I look forward to hearing from you at clara [dot] reinhardt [at] radiumhotsprings [dot] ca

Councillor Ron Verboom

I have been a resident of Radium Hot Springs for over 35 years and am proud to have served on the original town council from 1990 to present, missing only one term during that period. The successes of these councils have provided our residents and businesses with first class infrastructure and services. I’ve served as director on various boards and committees over the years and am currently the Deputy Mayor and Regional District Alternate Director for the Village. I am an avid trail runner and mountain biker and still marvel every day at the natural beauty we are fortunate to experience here in and around Radium. I am happily married to my wife, Donna, of 36 years, and have two wonderful children, Kelsey and Taylor. I can be reached by email at rdverboom [at] gmail [dot] com.

 Councillor Karen Larsen

My family moved to Radium Hot Springs from Dawson City, Yukon in 2007. Over the past years we have made such great friends and have enjoyed the numerous clubs, activities and associations available in this amazing little community, not to mention raising a family and watching them grow and find their place. You may have seen me over the years working at Elk Park Ranch and the Old Eaton House when it was Country Market. I also worked at Meet on Higher Ground Coffee Shop where I met the roots of Radium and made many great friends. I volunteered for four years on the Radium Events Committee. I have coached soccer, taught Aqua fit and swimming lessons. I hike our numerous trails, swim the lakes and fish in the rivers. I truly believe that one needs to get involved within their community through volunteerism and participation in various activities to have a real appreciation of what we have. I believe those that have come to set roots, old or new, have come to be here for the same reasons. I am extremely honoured to have the opportunity to serve our community for a second term. I can be reached at karen [dot] larsen [at] radiumhotsprings [dot] ca.

Councillor Todd Logan

When my wife and I got married, we chose to buy our first (and so far only!) house in Radium Hot Springs. We have lived here since 1993 and have raised two great kids in this Village. I joined the Radium Volunteer Fire Department in 1993, and continue to be an active member. I first ran for council in 2011. This will be my second term (2014-2018). I  currently sit on the Columbia Valley Recreation Board and the fire department committee. I look forward to my 2nd term on council, and the committment I will bring to serve the residents of this Village.  I can be reached at logan [dot] todd1 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Councillor Tyler McCauley

My family and I moved to Radium Hot Springs in 2011 after searching for small business which we could stay at home and raise our 2 boys. We settled on this amazing community. I decided to join council to do my best to help show the rest of the world what a lovely area we live in and do my best to assist with decisions that are made in our small town.
