VILLAGE COUNCIL

The Village Council consists of a Mayor and four Councillors who are elected for a three-year term. The Community has the opportunity to provide input on such issues as budgets, taxes, development and OCP planning.

Council meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm and are open to the public. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers, located at the Village Office (4836 Radium Blvd.). The public can address Council at these meetings if arrangements are made ahead of time. Mayor & Councillors

Mayor Dee Conklin

Dee Conklin moved to Radium Hot Springs from Calgary in 2003 after purchasing Palliser Printing. She and her husband Rod up rooted their city lives and decided to try small town living. It didn’t take Dee long to immerse herself into the community by getting involved in the Chamber of Commerce, CV Arts and Panorama Foundation. They have now expanded their involvement in the community by opening up CasaVino Wine Bar in their Commercial/Residential property. Dee has served as Radium’s second Mayor since 2008.

Councillor Clara Reinhardt

After searching western Canada for a perfect place to live after my husband retired, we moved to Radium Hot Springs in 2005. My job with the Canadian Red Cross has been very flexible allowing me to work from a home office. Having always been interested in local government, I ran and was elected to council in 2008. My current roles include Chair of OCP Steering Committee, council representative on the Recreation Events Committee, and most recently appointed to a joint committee with the Fire Department to research First Responder programs. I can be reached by email at clara [dot] reinhardt [at] radiumhotsprings [dot] ca

Councillor Ron Verboom

I have been a resident of Radium Hot Springs for over 30 years and am proud to have served on the original town council from 1990 to present, missing only one term during that period. I have served as director on various boards and committees over the years and am currently the council rep for the Radium Public Library Board. I am an avid runner and have been Race Director of the Headbanger Trail Challenge running event held the past 6 years here in Radium. I am happily married to my wife, Donna, of 32 years, and have two wonderful children, Kelsey and Taylor.

 Councillor Karen Larsen

I moved to Radium with my husband and four children from Dawson City, Yukon.  Radium was one of the places my family would visit on our camping vacations and we always thought it would be a beautiful place to raise a family.  I bring with me a lot of experience with living and working in a small community that I hope I can use in a positive way with being on Council. I worked with the Klondike Visitor Association, I was a member on the Dawson Women's Shelter, a member of the Dawson Recreation Council, a volunteer ambulance attendant for years and the Dawson City Aquatics Manager. I am now a member of the Radium Events Committee. I also work for Elk Park Ranch as an Events Coordinator, and you may also see me at Meet on Higher Ground Coffee Shop. I hope to be of great service to this Village and look forward to my term learning and meeting more of the wonderful people that make this Village what it is.

 Councillor Todd Logan

I have lived in Radium Hot Springs since 1993. I am married and have two great kids, Lauren and Braeden. I have been a member of the local volunteer fire department since 1993, and continue to serve on the department. This is my first term on Council and I am very honoured to be representing such a wonderful Village. The past councils have done a super job in making Radium what it is today, and I look forward to continuing that work with the current council,
